Reducing the Hardware

The difference between log₂ N and log_fanout N for a fanout of 6 is shown graphically. A 400 port Banyan or Butterfly requires 3000 internal links while a 400 port Galois network requres 900 internal links. This is more than a factor of 2 reduction in internal links.
